Urge Congress to Restore the Voting Rights Act:
In January, a bipartisan group of Representatives did something that is rare nowadays: they put aside politics to govern. By introducing H.R. 3899, the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014 (VRAA), Representatives Sensenbrenner, Conyers, Scott and Lewis came together to forge workable, common sense solutions that would modernize the elections process and protect voting rights against discrimination. But months later we are still waiting for Congress to finish what it started. Urge your Representative to move H.R. 3899 forward by holding a hearing in the House.

The VRAA is an important step forward for our democracy, where the right to vote is not about
politics or the outcome of elections; it is about equality and justice.

Urge Congress to Restore the Voting Rights Act:

Representatives James Sensenbrenner (R-WI), John Conyers (D-MI), Bobby Scott (D-VA), John Lewis (D-GA), and Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) introduced common sense legislation that would repair and restore the Voting Rights Act. This bipartisan effort to fix the damage done by the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Shelby v. Holder is necessary to restore and protect the rights of voters across the country.
Tell Congress you support the Voting Rights Act!

February 2014 Comments to the IRS on Regulation to Tame Dark Money in Politics by our co-president Sam Neeman

The IRS has proposed very significant changes in the regulations that govern what kind of political activity and how much of that activity a Section 501(c)(4) organization can carry out. This step is our best chance to rein in the secret “dark money” that has been polluting our elections since the Supreme Court’s terrible decision in Citizens United.
